| What is this? America First!, an anti-immigrant and refugee organization, is holding a rally in Laguna Beach on Sunday, August 20th. OC Unity was created as a peaceful, non-violent counter-protest for you to voice your opposition to white supremacy and racism in Orange County. How does it work? For every America First! protestor that attends the rally, you pledge a certain dollar amount that will be donated to the Public Law Center and Resilience OC. After the event, the total number of protestors (as reported by the organizers or the Laguna Beach police) will be used to determine your exact donation. (You can set the minimum and maximum amount you wish to donate.) Who will receive the funds? |
| The Public Law Center, based in Santa Ana, provides free legal assistance to refugees, asylum seekers, immigrant victims of crime, unaccompanied minors and those seeking to become naturalized U.S. citizens or seeking relief under DACA. Resilience OC works to defend against unjust deportations in Orange County. The proceeds will be received by The Public Law Center and split 50/50 with Resilience OC. Who is sponsoring this Pledge-a-Protestor? This counter-protest fundraiser was organized by a coalition of citizens working to bring equality and justice to Orange County: Together We Will-Orange County, Indivisible 46 and 48, Women for American Values and Ethics (WAVE), Code Blue, OC Racial Justice Collaborative, Democrats of Greater Irvine and Imagine Action OC.
