Helping our Heroes - Art for Butte County Firefighters

On the morning of Thursday November 8th, 2018, the Camp Fire tore through the foothills of Eastern Butte County leaving the communities of Paradise, Concow, Butte Creek Canyon, and Magalia devastated. By Friday morning more than 14,000 homes and several hundred commercial properties had been reduced to ashes. Unfortunately, while many of the local firefighters were engaged in evacuating the residents and attempting to save what homes and property they could, their own homes were lost in the fire. In all, nearly 50 firefighters from Cal Fire / Butte County Fire Department lost their homes that day. This sweepstakes has been established to help support the Butte County Burn and Benevolent Fund. This fund is used to assist both firefighters and the community in times of need.

This art sweepstakes was organized by Chris DeKnikker, an artist born and raised in Chico and now lives in Colorado. "After seeing what the fire did to the lives of my friends and family, I knew I needed to help but didn't have the resources to make a significant impact. I decided to donate my work and ask other talented artists to join me in this effort. Together, we hope to help get the Butte County firefighters and their families back on their feet."

By donating, you will be entered to win one of the art pieces below. The winners will be randomly selected on January 26. Proceeds go to the Butte County Firefighters Burn and Benevolent Foundation.
