Meet the Organization
Guthrie Memorial Library - Hanover's Public Library Since 1911
Guthrie Memorial Library - Hanover's Public Library boasts three levels of community spaces, technology, and resources. Located just three blocks from the center of town on Route 94, our friendly staff have been welcoming Hanover area families since 1911. We are known for our fun and educational activities for all ages, and our early childhood programs are designed to meet state educational standards. Author visits, a dedicated teen library space, a children's library just for kids, and high-speed Internet access can all be yours when you visit us! Stop by and check out our ongoing book sale, our collection of historic artwork, our online resources, and even our video game and board game collections.
Most folks assume that public libraries are publicly funded, and this is partially true - we receive federal, state, county, and local government dollars to help bring you the information resources that you have come to rely on in order to help you live your best lives. But a large portion of our funding comes from fundraisers like this one, from individual folks coming together to support a valuable community resource, and we would not be able to keep our doors open without the generous support of our donors and volunteers. Every raffle ticket purchased here means continued access to computers, audio/visual resources, books and magazines, reference materials, in-depth one-on-one research support services from our staff, and programs focused on information literacy, healthcare, financial help, business resources, local history, and more.
Find us on our website, where you can see the latest resources we have, access our catalog, and take a look at our events calendar for upcoming virtual and in-person programs. You can also find us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Love defines this quilt...pieced with blocks created by a quilt swap of women across the United States. The blocks are set with edged sashing and matching cornerstone blocks. The quilt, measuring 98" x 122" will be smashing on a king-size bed. The quilting with intricate ruler work will make an heirloom quilt for years to come. The backing is “Honorable Mention” by the designer Anna Maria Horner.
