As a Realtor and Founder of Soulfully Central Park a neighborhood organization

celebrating Diversity, Lori Pace is honoring a Black Mother who was tragically

killed in the midst of selling and buying a home for her family.

"We are turning to our influential community leaders and partners to step up to

the plate and help a black family buy a permanent residence in a supportive

and diverse community in Northeast Denver says Lori Pace.

Realtor Lori Pace of Kentwood Real Estate, and Rachel Kennedy both members

of Colorado Association of Realtors, Elevations Community Land Community

Trust, and Soulfully Central Park, Cleo Wilson of Central Park Mortgage are

teaming up. The raised proceeds will support an underprivileged family to be

able to purchase a permanent home and be protected from ever going into

foreclosure. Elevations Community Land Trust helped find a home for the family

and offers a program to homeowners that lack the financial resources to buy

real estate. However, more funding is needed to purchase the home.

Liya Taylor, a black single mother, was tragically killed in a head-on collision on

June 23, 2020, leaving behind three children (ages 14, 21, and 23 at the time of

the car crash) without their mother and a home. Unfortunately, Liya had

already signed the paperwork to sell their existing home to the new owner just

days before she died and went under contract and signed the paperwork on

what was supposed to be their new forever home. Her young family was left

displaced.

"We need to get this family a permanent home to carry on their mother's

dream and legacy," said Rachel Greene Kennedy, the original real estate agent

representing the mother before she died.

Elevations Community Land Trust is committed to continuing its mission and

helping households on the path to affordable homeownership. More than 1,600

Colorado households engaged in the Elevations Community Land Trust (ECLT)

application process between 2018 and 2020. Approximately 650 families

started an ECLT application in 2020. Homes purchased under this program are

also then sold to others in the program.

Lori wants to make sure this young family in our community never goes into

foreclosure. Instead of paying rent they can build wealth through real estate,

and pass on their mother's legacy.

"We're also raising awareness about a problem that most people don't

understand—which is affordable housing.

Donations can be made by contacting Lori who serves on the Kentwood Cares

foundation. 100% of the proceeds will go towards purchasing the home.

About Soulfully Central Park

Soulfully Central Park founded by Black Women Realtor was born from the idea

of connecting residents and neighbors with similar lifestyles, heritage, cultures,

and backgrounds. It started as primarily African American and Black families

and has grown to include all underrepresented communities, ethnicities, and

blended families of Central Park to join each other, particularly at the many

hosted events in the neighborhood. This growing population of families in all

economic sectors celebrates diversity and inclusion in Central Park. The group

also supports philanthropic efforts, schools, and local organizations in their

sphere representing their families. The phrase " Here Grows the Neighborhood"

is the philosophy behind building a home ownership legacy in neighborhoods.
